Early Years Funding

Two Year Old Funding

Free early learning and childcare is available to some two year old children living in Norfolk. To be eligible for this funding their families must meet certain criteria determined by the Department for Education and Norfolk County Council. Guidance on whether or not your child may be eligible can be found here.

Eligible children are able to access up to 15 hours of free childcare per week, from the term starting after their second birthday, provided that we have sessions available. Eligibility checks cannot be made until a child is at least 21 months old. All families will need to check their eligibility via a Norfolk Education Online (NEO) account. For further information and to set up an account if you do not already have one, please click here.

Three and Four Year Old Funding

Free early learning and childcare is available to all three and four year olds living in England, in the term following their 3rd birthday Eligible children are able to access up to 15 hours of free childcare per week up to the maximum number of hours available to claim each period. For those children that meet the criteria for 30 hours funding, this is offered once we have received and checked an eligibility code for the child. Funding becomes available the term following an eligibility code being received, and must be renewed for each term. You can check if your child is eligible for 30 hour funding here.

Funding Forms and Information

Funding must be claimed for each term that a child is eligible. Funding forms will be sent home from the setting, with some guidance, and must be returned as soon as possible. As part of the form you are required to tick a list of statements, including that you have read the information booklet from the local council. Whilst we are unable to complete the funding forms on the family's behalf we are happy to offer assistance where it is needed.
